How to download Instagram Reels on iPhone
Published 22 October 2026 ยท Save Reels to your camera roll in Safari, with no app to install.
You don't need an app to save Instagram Reels to your iPhone. Safari can download them, and the Photos app can keep them. Here's how, step by step. It works for public reels and video posts.
1. Copy the reel's link
Open the reel in the Instagram app, tap the Share icon (the paper plane), then Copy link.
2. Open SaveItOk in Safari and paste
Go to saveitok.com/instagram-downloader in Safari, tap Paste (or long-press the box and paste) and tap Download. SaveItOk shows the qualities available, such as 720p or 1080p, all with sound.
3. Download the video
Tap Download next to the quality you want. Safari asks whether you want to download the file; tap Download. A small arrow appears in the address bar while it saves.
4. Move it to your Photos
- Open the Files app and go to Downloads (or tap the arrow in Safari's address bar, then the video).
- Open the video, tap the Share button and choose Save Video.
The reel is now in your camera roll, ready to watch offline or edit.
Just want the sound?
Tap Download MP3 under Sound (MP3) instead to keep only the audio. Or tap Transcribe to turn what's said into text.
If it doesn't work
- "Only shown to logged-in users": Instagram hides some reels from people who aren't signed in, and SaveItOk never logs in, so those can't be downloaded.
- Private accounts aren't supported: only public reels and posts work.
- The video won't play: versions marked (VP9) use a newer format some older iPhones can't play. Choose another quality.
Please only save reels you have the right to use, and ask the creator before re-posting their work.
