How to get the text (transcript) from a TikTok video
Published 24 October 2026 ยท Turn what's said in a TikTok into text you can copy, translate or save as subtitles.
TikTok can show captions, but you can't select or copy them, and many videos have none. To get the words as text you can copy, translate or turn into subtitles, transcribe the video's sound instead. It takes about a minute and is free.
1. Copy the TikTok's link
In TikTok, tap Share on the video, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from your browser.
2. Paste it into Audio to Text
Open saveitok.com/audio-to-text, choose Paste a link and paste the TikTok link.
3. Pick the language and transcribe
Leave the language on Auto-detect, or choose the spoken language for the best accuracy. Tick Translate to English if the video is in another language and you'd like it in English. Then tap Transcribe.
4. Copy or download the text
- Copy puts the whole transcript on your clipboard, ready for notes, a caption or a message.
- .txt saves it as a plain text file.
- .srt saves subtitles with timings, for CapCut, YouTube, Premiere Pro or VLC.
- Switch Timestamps off if you want just the words, without times.
Translate the transcript
Once you have the transcript, choose a language under Translate subtitles to and tap Translate. Every line keeps its timing, so translated subtitles stay in sync with the video.
Good to know
- Music-only videos have no speech to transcribe, and you'll be told so.
- Background music and several people talking at once lower the accuracy, so check names and numbers.
- Private videos can't be transcribed from a link.
- Your audio is deleted from our server as soon as the transcript is ready, and transcripts aren't stored.
