How to download Facebook videos on iPhone
Published 24 October 2026 ยท Save Facebook videos and reels to Photos using Safari, in HD.
Facebook has no button to save videos to your iPhone, but Safari can do it in a few taps. This works for public videos and reels, in HD where Facebook has it, with no app to install.
1. Copy the video's link
In the Facebook app, open the video or reel, tap Share and choose Copy link. Short fb.watch links work too.
2. Open SaveItOk in Safari and paste
Go to saveitok.com/facebook-downloader in Safari, tap Paste and then Download. SaveItOk measures each version Facebook offers and shows its real resolution, such as 1080p or 720p.
3. Download the video
Tap Download next to the quality you want. When Safari asks, tap Download. A small arrow appears in the address bar while it saves.
4. Save it to Photos
- Tap the arrow in Safari's address bar and then the video, or open the Files app and go to Downloads.
- Open the video, tap the Share button and choose Save Video.
The video is now in your camera roll, ready to watch offline, edit or send.
Tips
- Choose 720p or 1080p for the sharpest picture, or a lower quality to save space.
- Versions marked (VP9) use a newer format some older iPhones can't play. Pick another quality if the video won't open.
- Need only the audio? Tap Download MP3 under Sound (MP3).
If it doesn't work
- Private videos, videos in private groups and friends-only posts can't be downloaded.
- Live videos that are still broadcasting can't be saved until they've ended.
Please only save videos you have the right to use, and ask before re-posting someone else's work.
