How to save Instagram Reels on Android
Published 24 October 2026 · Save Reels to your gallery in Chrome, or straight from Instagram's Share menu.
On Android you can save Instagram Reels straight to your gallery, with sound, using Chrome. No app or login needed. There's also a shortcut that skips copying links altogether. Both work for public reels and video posts.
1. Copy the reel's link
Open the reel in the Instagram app, tap the Share icon (the paper plane) and choose Copy link.
2. Paste it into SaveItOk
Open saveitok.com/instagram-downloader in Chrome, tap Paste and then Download. SaveItOk lists the qualities Instagram offers, such as 720p or 1080p, all with sound.
3. Download it
Tap Download next to the quality you want. Chrome saves the video to your phone's Downloads folder and shows a notification when it's done.
4. Find it in your gallery
Most gallery apps show downloaded videos straight away, often in a Download album. In Google Photos, look under Collections → On this device → Download. You can also tap the notification, or open the Files app and go to Downloads.
The shortcut: share reels straight to SaveItOk
- Open saveitok.com in Chrome, scroll to the bottom and tap Install the SaveItOk.com app (or use Chrome's menu, then Add to Home screen or Install app).
- Next time you watch a reel, tap Share, then the more-options or Share to… button at the end of the row, and pick SaveItOk.com.
- SaveItOk opens with the reel already loaded. Just pick a quality.
Just want the sound or the words?
Tap Download MP3 under Sound (MP3) to keep only the audio, or Transcribe to turn what's said into text.
If it doesn't work
- "Only shown to logged-in users": Instagram hides some reels from people who aren't signed in, and SaveItOk never logs in, so those can't be downloaded.
- Private accounts and stories aren't supported: only public reels and video posts work.
- The video won't play: versions marked (VP9) use a newer format a few older phones can't play. Choose another quality.
Please only save reels you have the right to use, and ask the creator before re-posting their work.
